Why not take up archery as a new sport ?

If you’ve ever thought about taking up archery, we can offer you a beginner’s course to teach you the basics. All archery clubs require new archers to reach a minimum level of competency before allowing them to shoot in club sessions. Our training courses give you all you need to shoot safely and have fun.

Contact our Coach (Sylvia Underlin) for further information about beginners courses.

The next beginners course commences Monday 4th. January 2010 - to be held at Long Buckby Scout Hut starting at 6.15pm the cost is £40.00 per adult and £30.00 per junior

You can find out what's included in the courses by reading the rest of this page.

What’s covered?

The BTB Beginners course covers everything you’ll need to start your new sport. You’ll learn:

The Instructors

You will be taught by GNAS registered trainers at all times. GNAS is the sport’s governing body and it makes sure that only qualified instructors can teach beginners. Your enjoyment and safety are our key concerns.

Our Instructors are:

Kevin Mace, Graham Underlin and Tony Underlin (Level 1 Coaches)

Edward Spokes (Junior Assistant Coach)

Sylvia Underlin (Coach).

Duration

Each course consists of six sessions lasting approximately two hours each. They are run in the early evenings to allow both adults and juniors to attend.

Equipment

All the equipment that you need is provided free of charge for the duration of the course. After that, you can still use the club’s equipment, but there is a small charge of £1 per session to cover the maintenance of bows, arrows etc. If you later decide to purchase your own equipment, you’ll get plenty of helpful advice from our instructors and coaches to help you get what suits you, not what suits the salesman who is trying to sell it to you.

Costs

The cost of the Beginners course is £40 for adults and £30 for juniors..
(Please note that, for archery purposes, the term ‘junior’ covers participants who are between 8 years and 18 years of age).

Why not treat someone to a beginners course as a birthday or Christmas gift ?

BTB now offer beginners course vouchers at a cost of £40 for adults and £30 for juniors, if you would like to treat someone to that unusual gift. Prices include a booklet and voucher.
